London's Design Museum will shortly re-open its doors at the former Commonwealth Institute on Kensington High Street, having moved from its long standing former site in Shad Thames. After being selected in 2008, the 1960s Grade II listed building has been re-imagined by architect John Pawson - more here

In the much smaller surrounds of Shad Thames, the pictured Douglas 'Clubman' Vespa (VB1T), donated to the museum by a former Veteran Vespa Club member, could occasionally be seen among the Transport exhibits. Hopefully in the re-modelled larger premises, one hopes this lovely Vespa will be on permanent exhibition.

The Design Museum is due to open again on 24th November 2016 - I for one will be putting it at the top of my museum visits list in London.
